The City of Osceola currently has an opening for the part-time position of Shelter Assistant. Under the general supervision the Animal Control Officer performs a variety of duties involving the feeding, care and treatment of all animals at the shelter; catches and transports animals; performs intake duties for animals brought to the shelter; cleans shelter, cages, runs and grounds; feeds, waters, medicates, vaccinates, bathes and cares for animals; assists individuals seeking lost animals or adoptable animals, responds to public inquiries regarding care and treatment of animals as well as animal complaints; assists customers in making pet selections; performs office clerical and administrative duties as well as other duties when assigned.
This individual must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must have a high school diploma/equivalent. Individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, public and to follow instructions. Individual must have ability to lift and carry a minimum or 25 pounds. Individual must love animals and not afraid of handling animals.

The City of Osceola is currently accepting applications for the position of CITY ACCOUNTANT . Interested persons should submit an application to the Human Resources Department. This posting will remain open until the position is filled. The incumbent assists the Mayor, Chief Operating Officer, Human Resource Director, and Electric Department Director in providing financial and accounting services for the City. The incumbent is responsible for performing technical and administrative professional accounting work in maintaining the fiscal records and systems of the City. The job objective is to ensure financials, grants, bonds, and other special program accounts are reconciled, balanced, and maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures. Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or related area. Two-four years of experience in accounting, management reporting or auditing in a Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) environment. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) preferred. Annual salary $55-000 – $67,00.
