The City of Osceola currently has an opening for a full-time position in their Street and Sanitation department for an equipment operator. The individual under general supervision may operate bulldozers, dump trucks, backhoe, road grader and other comparable heavy equipment in the construction and maintenance of all city streets. Other duties and responsibilities include the following:
This individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid CDL Class B. Individual must have knowledge in the operation of general heavy equipment as well as tractors, operation of a bush hog and at least 5 years of CDL experience. Individuals must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and to follow instructions. Individuals must have the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 35 pounds.
Individuals must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, dry and wet. Exposure to strong chemicals and offensive odors will occur. Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens may occur if adherences to safety procedures are not followed. Individuals may be required to be called into work on short notice.

The Osceola Municipal Golf Course currently has an opening for a Greenskeeper. Job duties will include but are not limit to the mowing and upkeep of grounds, fairways and greens, operation of sprinkler/irrigation systems, application of needed chemicals to designated areas, prepares greens, grade and clean traps as well as repair roadbeds. Candidate also is responsible for the planting, trimming and spraying of trees and shrubs as well as routine maintenance and upkeep of buildings.
This individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Driver’s License. Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, the public and to follow instructions. Previous experience in the operation and repair of motorized lawn equipment and construction tools a plus.

Incumbent is responsible in assisting co-workers in the day-to-day functions of the department and keeping work areas orderly and safe. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting in the assembling or dissembling of distribution system materials on the ground for installation or after removal in connection with line construction and maintenance work. Incumbent assists in raising transformers, switches and other heavy equipment. Digs holes for installation of poles and assists with installing poles, as well as other duties as assigned.

JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN
The City of Osceola is currently accepting applications for Journeyman Lineman. Incumbent needs to have at least 7 years experience in the construction, repair, maintenance and installation of OH/UG Electric Facilities with primary voltages ranging up to 15KV. Applicant must be skilled in the construction and maintenance of high voltage and secondary electric line, overhead and underground to include installing and removal of electric poles, transformers, insulators and associated equipment
Applicant needs to have experience in the operation of various pieces of equipment, including Aerial Bucket and Digger Derrick Trucks. Must have experience in the setting and climbing of all sizes of poles in open areas, rear alley and in energized lines. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public. Must be able to read and understand job prints and sketches.
This individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent and valid Arkansas Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B. Individual must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions. May be required to be “On Call’ and in emergencies may be called into work on short notice. Starting pay is $31.00 per hour.

APPRENTICE LINEMAN
The City of Osceola is currently accepting applications for an Apprentice Lineman.
Applicant needs to have at least 1-2 years’ experience in the stringing, tying, connect and tagging of wires and ability to make dead end connections. Experience in climbing poles, installation or cross arms, pole pins, insulation rack, down guys and overhead guy wires.

CITY OF OSCEOLA PART TIME ANIMAL SHELTER ASSISTANT |
The City of Osceola currently has an opening for the part-time position of Shelter Assistant. Under the general supervision the Animal Control Officer performs a variety of duties involving the feeding, care and treatment of all animals at the shelter; catches and transports animals; performs intake duties for animals brought to the shelter; cleans shelter, cages, runs and grounds; feeds, waters, medicates, vaccinates, bathes and cares for animals; assists individuals seeking lost animals or adoptable animals, responds to public inquiries regarding care and treatment of animals as well as animal complaints; assists customers in making pet selections; performs office clerical and administrative duties as well as other duties when assigned.
This individual must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must have a high school diploma/equivalent. Individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, public and to follow instructions. Individual must have ability to lift and carry a minimum or 25 pounds. Individual must love animals and not afraid of handling animals.
