Last Friday afternoon during our special-called ZOOM city council meeting where the ordinance and resolution needed to demolish the Mobil Station was not approved because of lack of attendees, I referenced our "Osceola Forward, 2040 Comprehensive Plan" and a goal found in its section. "4.3.1: To build on existing physical assets within the community. Objective 1: To enhance the city’s appearance. Policies - It is a policy of the city to: 1. Provide welcoming gateways into the community that will provide a positive first impression for visitors. 2. Work with community organizations to encourage and develop programs aimed at community beautification." For ease and transparency I had this document that was approved by the city council in 2016 posted to our city website in a searchable format. If you wish scroll through it, I have put the link to the plan below.
Please remember that we are reconvening via ZOOM this Tuesday, 2:00 to revisit the ordinance and resolution that will allow the demolition of the Mobil Station. I will ask Stacey to send out the ZOOM invite with the agenda and attachments. Thank you, Sally
