Individual will be required to report to work on short notice as well as being required to attend scheduled department meetings and training. Individual must be willing to be on-call during days or nights.

This individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Arkansas Driver's License. Candidate must have ability to communicate with the public, as well as co-workers in emergency and non-emergency situations.

The City of Osceola is currently accepting applications for a Groundskeeper at their 9-hole Municipal Golf Course.
Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Mowing rough and surrounding golf course areas with riding tractor and progressive.
- Repair, maintenance, daily cleaning and fueling of tractors and mowers.
- Operation of power equipment such as weed eater, saws, etc.
- Maintains and responsible for tools, weed eater, saws and equipment of department.
- Edging and raking sand traps.
- Keeping grounds clean of debris such as limbs, trash, etc.
- Carry out assigned tasks as directed by supervisor.
- Represent the City of Osceola in a professional manner.
 
This individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Driver’s License. Previous experience in the operation and use of riding tractors/mowers and grounds keeping equipment a plus. One to three months job related experience and/or training a plus. Individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and to follow instructions.
Individual must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat, dry and wet. Exposure to strong chemicals and offensive odors will occur.

The City of Osceola is currently accepting applications for a Groundman in their Electric Department.  Incumbent is responsible in assisting co-workers in the day-to-day functions of the department and keeping work areas orderly and safe.  Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting in the assembling or dissembling of distribution system materials on the ground for installation or after removal in connection with line construction and maintenance work. Incumbent assists in raising transformers, switches and other heavy equipment.  Digs holes for installation of poles and assists with installing poles, as well as other duties as assigned.

This individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent and valid Driver’s License.  Previous experience in working with electrical systems a plus, as well as having a Commercial Driver’s License.  Individual must be willing to live in the City

Jailer | Dispatcher Position

OsceolaSeal2019OPD Patch 250xThe Osceola Police Department is soliciting highly motivated individuals for the full-time position of jailer/dispatcher. Starting pay is $12 per hour. Applicants must go through Temps Plus for the application and initial hiring.

Those selected to fill open positions will be required to monitor telephones and radio in the dispatch center, dispatch police, fire, ambulance, and other response vehicles.  Collect payments of fines and bonds from the general public.  Process, search and input detainee information in the computer and issues detainee clothing and personal articles.  Ensure proper care of male detainees by dispensing meals and prescriptions and investigate all reported health problems and takes appropriate action based on the severity of the situation.  Provides security for the detention facility and detainees by conducting frequent routine inspections carries out duties in conformance with Federal, State, County and City laws and ordinances.  Qualified applicants must have above average written and verbal skills.

Requirements: Applicants must be a US Citizen, 18 years of age or older at the time of application, and have a high school diploma or equivalent, college preferred.  Applicants must have a clean criminal record, verified by a background investigation and possess a valid driver’s license.  Applicants must pass a general physical examination with a drug test, a psychological examination and have vision correctable to 20/20.
