
The Osceola Police Department is soliciting highly motivated individuals for the full-time position of jailer/dispatcher. Starting pay is $12 per hour. Applicants must go through Temps Plus for the application and initial hiring.
Those selected to fill open positions will be required to monitor telephones and radio in the dispatch center, dispatch police, fire, ambulance, and other response vehicles. Collect payments of fines and bonds from the general public. Process, search and input detainee information in the computer and issues detainee clothing and personal articles. Ensure proper care of male detainees by dispensing meals and prescriptions and investigate all reported health problems and takes appropriate action based on the severity of the situation. Provides security for the detention facility and detainees by conducting frequent routine inspections carries out duties in conformance with Federal, State, County and City laws and ordinances. Qualified applicants must have above average written and verbal skills.
Requirements: Applicants must be a US Citizen, 18 years of age or older at the time of application, and have a high school diploma or equivalent, college preferred. Applicants must have a clean criminal record, verified by a background investigation and possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants must pass a general physical examination with a drug test, a psychological examination and have vision correctable to 20/20. Work schedule requires weekend, holiday, rotating shift work, overtime, and court appearances. If hired, the applicant must live within the Osceola, Arkansas City Limits.
